  • Chuck Jennings will speak on Photographing Artwork: 

  • -When a professional quality photograph is needed.

  • -When scanning is an option.

  • -Why you should use a professional photographer to photograph your work including lighting, polarization, parallax, focus, exposure, lens and sensor quality, data and resolution, data transfer and post-production, and storage. 

  • -When and why you do not need a professional photographer to photograph your work. What is your minimum standard?

  • Chuck Jennings, BA, MFA, is renowned as a painter, photographer and educator. He was Chair of the Department of Art and Design at Cal Poly for 14 years before retiring. First a painter, he subsequently embraced photography as a focus for his art as well as professionally. Bring your questions for Chuck about fine art photography and/or painting.

  • After the presentation, we will have a short break followed by a peer critique for those artists who have brought paintings. TPG members are free to bring completed work or work in progress for critique.

The Painters Group (TPG) is an artist group formerly affiliated with SLOMA, and includes artists working in a wide variety of painting mediums: oil, acrylic, encaustic, watercolor, pastel, drawing, mixed media, and digital. All levels and styles are welcome.
